Jian Xu
Professor of Environment Design in Department of Fine Arts, Dean of Institute of Cultural Heritage Preservation with Advanced Science and Technologies, Director of Big Site Protection and Ancient Architecture (International) Research Center at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is also the Chief Planner of Campus planning and Building center, deputy director of campus development and planning committee, Chief Editor of Human Cultural Heritage Preservation at XJTU. As one of National First-Class Registered Architect, he also serves as an online reviewer of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), member of academic committee of International Space Design IDEA – TOPS, chairman of International Space Design IDEA – TOPS at Xi’an, final panel reviewer of the 10th International Space Design IDEA – TOPS (one of 12 global reviewers).
One of Assessors in Evaluation Department of Major Investment Projects in Shaanxi Provincial Government of Development and Reform Commission, Campus Planning Center of Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, Deputy director of Urban & Rural Planning Committee of Shaanxi province, member of intangible cultural heritage preservation of Shaanxi committee, annual expert of Urban & Rural planning of Shaanxi committee, Deputy director of Fine Arts of Shaanxi Higher Education Committee, Judge of Registered Architect Examination of Shaanxi Province, deputy chairman of real estate research of Shaanxi, counselor of Xi’an City Government, member of real estate counselling committee of Xi’an City, Expert of panel judge of China Architecture Center & Xi’an Star-rated houses.
He is in charge of one project of NSFC, two of International cooperation programs, five of provincial researches, 10 of market projects, and awarded with Shaanxi Provincial Government, approval of patent for invention. He also published 30 academic articles and 5 books. His design works include: Planning of Western China Science And Technology Innovation Harbour; Design of Five-star hotel of Mountain Taibai; Design of boutique hotels and Inns, resort hotels, villa and cottages; Design of five-star hotels of Guangxi guiping resort and tourism; Design of club and shopping street; Renovation project of Zhixiang Temple of Moutain Zhongnan; Planning of Western Movie Studio of China; Renovation of Qutan Temple and Minhe lajia Site in Qinghai province; Planning of conservation of Confucian Temple of Quanzhou in Fujian Province and 100 projects etc.
