Xiaoping Yang, native of Zaozhuang city in Shandong Province, is associate professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. She is currently the dean of the department of Chinese Calligraphy and entitled to supervise Master Degree candidates.

History of Calligraphy, Aesthetics of Calligraphy, Calligraphic Culture

Educational Background

From 1998 to 2011, she successively earned the B.A in Chinese linguistics and literature, M.A in History of Calligraphy, and Ph.D in Aesthetics of Calligraphy at Xi’an Jiaotong University,

Work Experience

Since the year of 2005, she is associated with the school of Humanities at Xi’an Jiaotong University. During the period from 2017 to 2018, she was a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in USA.

Adjunct Responsibilities  

The member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, the council member of Shaan’xi Calligraphers Association, meanwhile the deputy director of the female Calligraphers Committee of SCA. The council member of the Shaan’xi Association of Yu Youren Calligraphy, the vice chairperson of Xi’an Youth Calligraphers Association.
